Molds are fungi of some sort. Some are good, some no problem, and some bad. We will learn the difference.
- What are molds?
- How do they get in our yards and on our plants?
- What is the easiest way to get rid of them?
Example 1, Sooty Mold on several plants.
- I’ve seen this black mold on plants, what is it?
- What causes this mold?
- What should I do to control it?
7. Is this a good, indifferent, or bad mold?
Example 2, Rust on rose apple
8. What’s the name of this plant? It has unusual flowers
9. This mold is not black, it’s orange, what gives?
10. Should we expect to see this rust year-round like we see the sooty mold?
Example 3, rust on plumeria.
11. This is also orange, is it a rust?
12. What plant is it on?
13. We see how the rust on the rose apple kills the leaves, flowers and even the fruits. Will this happen on the plumerias?
14. Well, how do control this rust?
Example 4. Slime mold on Indian Hawthorn (I might not be able to get this one)
15. Why is it called slime mold?
16. What’s all that black stuff? It is much messier than the sooty mold.
17. Where does this one start?
18. Should we stop using mulch?
Example 5. Lichen on bark
