Wonderful Johnson is the newest project from noted bassist Tim McGeary (The Rescue). In 2003, Tim and drummer John "Chopper" Doria decided to start a journey that continues today. 

McGeary is a prolific acoustic singer/songwriter who wanted the sound and feel of a full band. Surprisingly, in the small city of Naples, Florida, he had no trouble finding veteran talent. The vision for Wonderful Johnson was to stack vocal harmonies the way bands like the Beatles and the Eagles did, while having a strong lead guitar and a little seasoning of keyboards on top of the driving rhythm of drums and bass.

The result is incredibly eclectic songs of immense variety.  Tim and Chopper headed to Memphis, TN and enlisted studio musicians and the top-notch production of John Hampton (Gin Blossoms). The first CD, Authentic Memphis Samich, was self-released and songs from it appeared on television shows Smallville, One Tree Hill and Prey, as well as in the movies Girl Got Moe and Glory Days.

Tim has always dealt with changes in the band's line up while still crafting and creating song after song. In 2006, the newest incarnation of Wonderful Johnson headed back into the studio to record and release the latest CD, Twelve.  On May 4, 2007, the final product was in hand, and now the band is busy promoting the disc. They established monthly, bread-and-butter gigs in southwest Florida and continue to push ahead to bigger and better things.
